Week 3 Crime drama analysis

Week 1 Crime drama studies Analysis:
Summary: CSI (Crime scene investigation) is an american based modern crime drama. Each episode consists of the same content but presented in a different way (different crime but presented the same way each episode), the normal episode is usually around 50 minutes long an episode, this differensciates when it is a series finally or a special episode. The characters are a team of investigator with no main character, most of these characters appear in the every episode. Although there is not a main character "Heratio" is seen as the most important character in the group.
Codes and Conventions: CSI is a typical American drama with the a team of investigators, forensics team and lead roles such as "Heratio". The audience it is aimed at is teenagers and adults as it is aired sometimes before or just after the watershed which suggests that it may contain some violence and gore. It is shown by Channel 5 a big TV channel for American crime dramas so is easily reconisable and easily viewable by other crime watchers.
Description of episode watched (episode 10, series 12)(MIA/NYC NonStop):
After sixteen-year-old Laura Spellman finds the brutally slain bodies of her parents, Horatio Caine vows to personally track down the killer and let Laura know she is safe. A scrap of paper with the lettering from a car rental company leads the CSIs to an important clue: the killer flew in from New York. Determined to keep his promise to Laura, Horatio boards a plane to New York, on the tail of Nick Murdoch, whom he believes is the killer.
Meanwhile in New York, NYPD CSI Mac Taylor is called to the scene of a murder of an undercover officer identified as Nick Murdoch who has been strangled. Horatio arrives in New York and the two CSIs realize that the murderer had stolen Murdoch's identity. Mac agrees to hand over jurisdiction to MDPD. Their investigations lead them to one of New York City's richest families, the Hanovers. Michael Hanover, Sr. was murdered while his son survived the attack. The two teams must now find the link between the murders of two unrelated families and bring the perpetrator to justice before he strikes again.
